Happy Friendship Monday: A Giveaway from me to you!

During the last weeks I was really happy to read some beautiful words from other bloggers about me and my blog: Andrea put me into her spotlight, Papagena has written a funny and lovely comment on my first friendship post, Jana has also written wonderfully about it on her blog, Myriam has dedicated a little article to me and there has also been a beautiful post about my Friendship Monday from wortmeer. Thank you to all those lovely ladies and a big thank you to each and every reader!

Somit möchte ich auch heute, an "meinem" Friendship Monday (Evening :-) ein kleines GESCHENK in Form eines kleinen Holzbildes von MIR für EUCH verlosen! Monolithe

Gestern sind schöne massive Foto-Monolithe in meinem Atelier entstanden. Jeder massive Buchenblock ist mit einem Bild, das auf feinem Hahnemühle-Papier gedruckt wurde, bezogen. Wie bei einem Monolithen wirken Bild und Holz wie aus einem Guss und so kann jedes einzelne Werk für sich stehen oder auch zu einer kleinen Gruppe versammelt werden.

Yesterday I made some massive photo-monoliths in my studio. On each massive beech wooden block I've mounted a print made on Hahnemühle fine art paper. Like a monolith the photo and the wood form a solid unit and so each one can stand on its own or some of them can be assembled to a little group. 

Am Nachmittag sind die Monolithe ins Kaufhauskollektiv am Münchner Stachus gewandert. 

In the afternoon the monoliths moved to the Kaufhauskollektiv, a pop up store in the center of Munich.

Mein Stand ist nun wieder gut gefüllt und auch die Monolithe haben ein schönes Plätzchen gefunden. Now my booth is again loaded with fresh prints on wood and the monoliths have also found a nice little  place.

Noch anderthalb Wochen lang ist das Kaufhauskollektiv am Stachus und bietet eine besondere Auswahl an Design, Mode, Schmuck und Kunst aus München!

For one and a half week the pop up store will be there and show a very special selection of design, fashion, jewellery and art made in Munich!

Home Sweet Home - Fotokunst auf Holz 20x20cm

Ich liebe Dahlien, Ranunkeln und Pfingstrosen, schöne Schalen und vor allem diese weiße mit dem schönen blauen Anker, die mir mein bretonischer Opa geschenkt hatte. Er liebte schöne alte Möbel, besondere Produkte mit Geschichte, gutes Essen (wenn ich zu Besuch kam, gab es als Vorspeise oft Jacobsmuscheln und als Nachtisch eine Crêpe), Café aus dem Bol (Schale) getrunken und Wein, am liebsten Rosé!
I love dahlias, ranunculus and peonies, beautiful bowls and especially this one with the blue anchor which was a present from my grandfather who was from Brittany. He loved beautiful antique furniture , special products telling a story, good food (when I visited my grandparents I often got scallops as a starter and a crêpe for dessert), coffee out of a bol (bowl) and whine, preferably rosé!

New Design

Statt 1,3 cm breiten Holzplatten habe ich massive Buchenholzblöcke zum Aufziehen meiner kleinen Bilder 10 x 10 cm)verwendet. Die Seiten blieben diesmal naturfarben. Schlicht, schön und praktisch, da die Holzblockbilder von alleine stabil stehen.
Instead of thiner wood panels I used solid beech blocks for mounting my small pictures (10 x 10 cm). I kept the natural colour of the wood for the block's sides. Simple, beautiful and handy because the photo blocks can stand firmly on their own.

And off I go to the studio because the last orders and christmas presents have to be ready in time...
Und nun geht's wieder ins Atelier, denn die letzten Aufträge und Weihnachtsgeschenke müssen noch rechtzeitig fertig werden...

Fotokunst und SCHMUCKes

...gibt es bald im KVA-Atelier zu sehen. Eine kleine feine Ausstellung gemeinsam mit Stefanie Burk, die mit ihren Ziermitteln gerade frisch von Köln nach München umgezogen ist.
Fine Art Photography and jewelry will soon be shown in the KVA-studio. A small but nice exhibition together with Stefanie Burk who has recently moved from Cologne to Munich together with her decorative and wearable art.

Now I have to be even more busy over here

noch ein bisschen fleißiger sein, damit es am Samstag SCHMUCKes UND Fotokunst zu bewundern gibt :-) Tee und Plätzchen werden natürlich auch gereicht, ist ja schließlich das vierte Adventswochenende, da muss man es sich zwischen diesem ganzen unglaublichen Weihnachtstrubel auch mal gemütlich machen. Doch bis dahin werde ich noch viele Fotos aufziehen, denn auch das wundervolle Winterkaufhaus am Stachus will immer wieder frisch mit Bildern und handgefertigten Karten beliefert werden...
so that there will really be lovely jewelry AND fine art photography on wood to be admired:-) Of course we will also have some tea and "Plätzchen" (Christmas cookies) on Saturday because it's already the fourth weekend of Advent and so it has to be "gemütlich" in the middle of all the Christmas rush. But before I will have to mount many photos on wood because also the wonderful winter pop-up store from the Kaufhauskollektiv wants to get fresh photos on wood and also handmade postcards...

Black Border

Heute ist eine kleine Serie von schwarz umrandeten Bildern (20 x 20 cm) entstanden.

Today I made a little series of black border photos on wood (about 7,8 x 7,8 inch):

Mit lebhaften

With vivid

oder gedämpften Farben

or muted colours

aber immer mit einem schwarzen Rand!

but always with a black border!

Through the Viewfinder

Neulich hatte ich die Idee, meine Bilder auch mal mit einem schwarzen Rand zu versehen, um die mit Hilfe einer Textur erzeugten TTV-Bilder (through the viewfinder) auf Holz aufziehen zu können. Hier ist das erste fertige Ergebnis.
Recently I got the idea to paint a black border on my wood panels because so I would be able to mount my digitally processed ttv photos (through the viewfinder) on wood. Here is the first finished result.

Ich finde es schön, wie die Acrylfarbe ein wenig in die Textur des Bildes übergeht. Das Bild kennt ihr vielleicht schon in dieser Bearbeitung, die ein wenig zarter ist, mit kräftigeren Farben wirkt es wieder komplett anders, nicht wahr?
I like the way the acrylic paint is merging with the texture of the photo. You might know the picture with another processing which is much softer, it's completely different now, don't you think so?

Das Bild habe ich dieses Mal in einem besonders kleinen Format gedruckt (10 x 10 cm) und nun könnte man es fast wie eine kleine Kamera in die Handtasche stecken :-)
I printed this photo in a very small size (10 x 10 cm about 3,9 x 3,9 inch) and now you could almost put it in your handbag like a small camera :-)

Weaving my realities

These days I feel like a spider slowly weaving its web.

Yes, I'm finally creating my own web turning my dreams into my realities. During the last few weeks I made so many new and interesting connections with other creative people. It was so natural and easy, I think I was ready to meet them.

And I even found a place to make, show and sell my art together with a group of artists so very close to the place I live. It all feels so good and I try to accept to be scared sometimes because of all the new possibilities and to still hear from time to time my inner critical voices asking me if I am really good enough for all this. But then I simply move on, making my web bigger and bigger, slowly or a little faster, but always at my own pace. 

Stephanie Levy's wonderful e-course is also a good help (by the way I'm still looking for a good title for the picture above) during this process. I'm happy to have met her before here in Munich and now I'm really enjoying her lovely and genuine way to make us (a very international group of women) find more and more our creative courage. Thank you Stephanie!

Dreamy, Soft and Pastel

Die neuesten Bilder, die ich in meinem kleinen Atelier auf Holz gezogen habe, schwelgen in sanften, verträumten und pastelligen Farbtönen. Das war irgendwie genau das richtige Mittel gegen das graue kalte Wetter der letzten Tage...
My newest photos on wood which I mounted in my little studio bath in soft, dreamy and pastel colours. This was exactly the right thing to combat the grey and cold weather which we had during the last days...

Und unsere hübschen Zuckerplätzchen gab's als süße Medizin für die Seele ;-)

And our cute sugar cookies were like sweet medicine for the soul ;-)

PS.: Das Münchner Kaufhauskollektiv wächst und gedeiht (wir hatten ein schönes Mitgliedertreffen am Sonntag) und nun gibt auch endlich eine richtige Fanpage, geht mal schauen!

The Munich group of artists called the "Kaufhauskollektiv" is growing and doing really fine (we had a very nice meeting on Sunday) and we finally also have a real fanpage, please have a look!

Busy Rainy Days

Gerade regnet es mal nicht und die Kinder fahren wie die Wilden im Hof Roller. Doch ansonsten hat es viel geregnet, so dass wir viel Zeit zu Hause verbracht haben. Das alles ist dabei entstanden:
Right now it's not raining ans so the kids are playing in the yard with their scooters. But otherwise we had a lot of rain so that we spent a lot of time at home. This is what we made during this time:
