Monolithe

Gestern sind schöne massive Foto-Monolithe in meinem Atelier entstanden. Jeder massive Buchenblock ist mit einem Bild, das auf feinem Hahnemühle-Papier gedruckt wurde, bezogen. Wie bei einem Monolithen wirken Bild und Holz wie aus einem Guss und so kann jedes einzelne Werk für sich stehen oder auch zu einer kleinen Gruppe versammelt werden.

Yesterday I made some massive photo-monoliths in my studio. On each massive beech wooden block I've mounted a print made on Hahnemühle fine art paper. Like a monolith the photo and the wood form a solid unit and so each one can stand on its own or some of them can be assembled to a little group. 

Am Nachmittag sind die Monolithe ins Kaufhauskollektiv am Münchner Stachus gewandert. 

In the afternoon the monoliths moved to the Kaufhauskollektiv, a pop up store in the center of Munich.

Mein Stand ist nun wieder gut gefüllt und auch die Monolithe haben ein schönes Plätzchen gefunden. Now my booth is again loaded with fresh prints on wood and the monoliths have also found a nice little  place.

Noch anderthalb Wochen lang ist das Kaufhauskollektiv am Stachus und bietet eine besondere Auswahl an Design, Mode, Schmuck und Kunst aus München!

For one and a half week the pop up store will be there and show a very special selection of design, fashion, jewellery and art made in Munich!

Sakura

Nach dem Wochenende beginnt das Frühlingskaufhaus in München! Mein heute frisch auf Holz erblühtes Sakura-Motiv wird ab Montag inmitten von weiteren Bildern und vielen handgefertigten Designarbeiten und Kunstwerken in ganz zentraler Lage im Stachus-Untergeschoss zu finden sein.
The Spring pop up store will start right after the weekend here in Munich! My Sakura motif which freshly blossomed on wood today will be there among my other photos on wood and in the middle of many handmade crafty and arty things in a central place in Munich called the "Stachus-Untergeschoss".

Aber ab heute schon dürfen die Kirschblüten bei DaWanda in meinem französisch-bayerischem Demoiselle Libellule-Laden noch mehr frühlingshafte Stimmung verbreiten!
But right now the cherry blossoms already create some more Spring mood in my Franco-Bavarian shop Demoiselle Libellule!

Spring News

Demoiselle Libellule wartet ungeduldig auf den Frühling, weshalb heute zumindest schon einmal ein Frühlingsbild in den kleinen Laden gewandert!
Demoiselle Libellule is impatiently waiting for Spring to finally arrive and so at least a Spring photo made it into my little shop today!

Eines meiner Lieblingsbilder, die "Spring Shoes" habe ich digital etwas neu bearbeitet und dann auf Holz aufgezogen.
One of my favourite photos, the "Spring Shoes",  got a little digital reworking and then I mounted it on wood.

Und dann beginnt auch bald schon das große Frühlingskaufhaus vom Kaufhauskollektiv, wo ihr auch dieses mal meine Bilder finden könnt (zumindest alle Münchner :-). Jetzt geht's erst einmal ab ins Atelier, denn ich muss weiter Hölzer vorbereiten und Fotos aufziehen!
And the "Frühlingkaufhaus" (a Spring pop up store) will soon start where you can find my photos on wood once again (at least all the Munich people :-). So, now I'm heading over to the studio because I have to prepare more wood panels and mount some more photos!

Slow - Motion

Mein Blog läuft gerade ein wenig in "slow motion", mein Leben aber nicht: erst einmal freue ich mich darüber, dass das Kaufhauskollektiv wieder einen wunderschönen Laden in München gestaltet hat (Fotos folgen noch) und ich mit meinen Bildern wieder dabei sein darf! Ein herzliches Dankeschön auch an Klee für ihren netten Blogartikel über mich und meine Bilder!
Und dann werde ich ganz bald ein richtiges Atelier, das ich mir mit einer Künstlergruppe teile, beziehen. So viele Pläne und Ideen schwirren durch meinen Kopf...
My blog is currently running in slow motion but my life is running quite fast: first of all I'm happy that the Kaufhauskollektiv has finally opened the doors of a new very beautiful pop-up store here in Munich where I'm again also selling my art! A big thank-you goes to Klee for her lovely blog articleabout me and my work!
And then I will soon move into a new, a real art studio which I will share with a group of local artists! I have so many ideas and plans in my head right now...

Four travels and a wedding

Die letzten Wochen waren gefüllt mit großen und kleinen Reisen, vielen schönen Erlebnissen und vor allem auch mit einer wundervollen Hochzeit! Sie fand auf dem Land statt, im Nirgendwo bei Lübeck, bei schönstem Sonnenschein und inmitten einer traumhaften Landschaft!
The last weeks have been filled with big and small travels, a lot of wonderful events and especially with a wonderful wedding! It took place in the countryside outside of Lübeck in the North of Germany with the most beautiful sunny weather and in the middle of a gorgeous scenery!

Ich habe gar nicht viel fotografiert, nur ein paar Impressionen eingefangen und konnte somit ganz entspannt das festliche Geschehen genießen!

I didn't make too many photos, I just caught some impressions and so I could relax and enjoy the festive event!

Extra für diesen besonderen Anlass hatte ich mir noch auf die Schnelle ein neues Kleid gekauft - ein neues Lieblingskleid im Stil der 20er Jahre! Perfekt zum Tanzen und Spaß haben :-)

At the last minute I had bought a new dress just for this special occasion - it's my new favourite dress in the style of the Twenties! Perfect for dancing and having fun :-)

Morgen ist der letzte Ferientag, die Schule und der Kindergarten gehen wieder los, ein neuer Rhythmus beginnt. Viele Dinge stehen an, das Kaufhauskollektiv startet bald sein Wiesnkaufhaus und ich freue mich wieder dabei zu sein! Hoffentlich schaffe ich es trotzdem, euch nach und nach meine Bilder aus Hamburg, Lübeck und auch noch ein paar Fotos aus Mallorca zu zeigen...

Tomorrow is the last day of our summer holidays, school and kindergarten will start again, a new rhythm will begin. A lot of things are coming up soon, the Kaufhauskollektiv will open its "Wiesnkaufhaus" (a pop up store in Munich where the famous Oktoberfest is taking place during that time) and I'm happy to be part of it again! I hope I will nevertheless manage to show you little by little my photos from Hamburg, Lübeck and also some more photos from Majorca...

New Perspectives

Nach zwei Wochen verlässt das Kaufhauskollektiv heute die Stachuspassagen und macht eine kurze Pause bis zum nächsten Auftauchen an einem bisher noch geheimen Ort ;-) Es war eine tolle Erfahrung, denn es wurden nicht nur viele schöne Dinge verkauft, sondern auch wieder neue Kontakte geknüpft! Ich selbst freue mich sehr, endlich hier vor Ort mit meinen Bildern präsenter zu sein und mit anderen Münchner Kreativen Kooperationen zu planen!
After two weeks the "Kaufhauskollektiv" is leaving the "Stachuspassagen" today and makes a little pause until it will suddenly pop up at place which is still a secret ;-) It has been a great experience because not only a lot of beautiful things have been sold but also new contacts have been created! I am very happy to finally show my works here in Munich more often and also to plan cooperations with other creatives!

Aber zunächst stehen nun die Pfingstferien vor der Tür: lange Ausschlafen, Kinderprogramm und hoffentlich halbwegs gutes Wetter :-)
But first the whitsun holidays are soon beginning: sleeping late, program for the kids and hopefully good weather :-)

Work in Progress

Oft habe ich das Gefühl, dass meine Fotos erst dann richtig fertig sind, wenn ich sie ausgedruckt, auf Holz aufgezogen und dann noch einmal bearbeitet habe. Gerade beim letzten Pfauen-Bild ist es mir so ergangen, dass erst diese Variante mich richtig begeistert hat, denn das schimmernde Blau kommt nun perfekt zur Geltung und das Ganze erinnert nun noch mehr an eine handkolorierte, antike Zeichnung!
I often feel that my photos are only really finished when I have printed them out, mounted them on wood and processed them again a little. Especially with the last peacock photo I felt this way and only this version makes me completely happy because the shimmering blue is now really perfect and everything reminds me even more of an antique, hand coloured drawing!

Falls ihr in München lebt oder eine kleine Frühlingsreise dorthin geplant habt, dann müsst ihr unbedingt den wundervollen kleinen Laden vom "Kaufhaus-Kollektiv" besuchen, der noch bis zum 21. April in Schwabing angesiedelt sein wird. Ich finde das Konzept von diesem Kollektiv, in dem nur Münchner Künstler präsentiert werden, richtig klasse und bin stolz darauf, bald auch dabei sein zu dürfen :-)
If you live in Munich or plan to visit it you absolutely have to go to a wonderful little shop called "Kaufhaus-Kollektiv" which will be there until April, 21. I love the concept of this collective which features only Munich based artists and designers and I am very proud to soon also be part of it :-)
