All die unvorstellbaren Nachrichten aus Japan machen mich so traurig, verzweifelt und hilflos. Dankbar war ich daher, dass ich mich am Sonntag für zwei Stunden auf eine kleine Handarbeit konzentrieren durfte und dabei meine Gedanken auf das Arbeiten mit schönen Stoffen, Wollfilz und Stickgarnen lenken konnte.
All these news from Japan make me feel sad, desperate and helpless. So I was happy to be able to concentrate for two hours on a little crafting project and to think just about fabrics, wool felt and embroidery thread.

Ein Geschenk für die Tochter einer lieben Freundin sollte es werden.

Und so hatte alles begonnen...

Aber nun sind meine Gedanken wieder in dem Land, das mich immer wieder fasziniert hat und das nun eine unfassbar große Tragödie erlebt. So etwas hätte nie passieren dürfen und nun muss wirklich alles dafür getan werden, dass es sich nicht wieder in einem anderen Land dieser Erde wiederholt!
But now my thoughts are going back to a country which has always fascinated me a lot and which now has to endure such an incredibly huge tragedy. Such a thing should have never happened and now everything has to be done to make sure that it will never happen again in any other country on this earth!

What I'm working on

Diese Woche hatte ich viel Arbeit zu erledigen. Außerdem verlässt mein Großer sehr bald seinen Kindergarten und so bereiten wir uns auch auf seine Abschiedszeremonie vor (die Kinder werden im Kindergarten übernachten und dann gibt es am nächsten Morgen einen Familienbrunch). Gestern waren wir schon einmal in seiner neuen Schule für eine große Sommerparty.
Nun möchte ich euch zumindest ein Projekt zeigen, an dem ich gerade arbeite: eine Stoff-/Filzcollage auf Leinwand.
I had a lot of different work to do this week. Besides, my son is leaving Kindergarten very soon, so we are preparing his goodbye celebration (the kids will sleep in the Kindergarten and have a family brunch the next morning). Yesterday we were in his new school for a summer party. But now I want at least share with you a project I'm currently working on: a fabric/felt collage on canvas.



Es ist für eine Taufe und das Motiv wird gestaltet nach der biblischen Geschichte von Jona und dem Wal. Und während ich an einem anderen Fotoprojekt gearbeitet habe, entstand nebenbei diese Photo mit einer Textur von les brumes.
It's for a baptism and the motif is the story of Jona and the whale. And while I was working on another photo project I also made this little picture using a texture from les brumes.



Wäre das nicht eine nette Geburtstagkarte (oder Bild) für einen Zweijährigen?
Wouldn't it be nice as a birthday card (or print) for a two year old, don't you think so?
